Tracy’s Weight Loss & Healthier Lifestyle ~ Week 12

Today I weighed in at 11 stone 4lbs and now only 2lbs away from my target weight which I set myself way back on January the 1st.
Some Even better news, these past few days I feel my hamstring injury is finally easing and managing to walk without crutches. I am a few weeks off from being able to resume my daily activities but after almost six weeks I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

When I do return to the Treadmill

I never want to suffer a hamstring injury again so I’ve decided not to push myself like I was, it’s just not worth it. I’m not sure whether my injury was due to pushing myself too hard or because I didn’t warm up properly but either way I need to take more care. So, when I do resume I will go on the treadmill three times a day for 30 minute sessions rather than 90 minutes in one go and also take the time to warm up before each session. I am excited to be able to talk about resuming exercise again, I’m giving myself another week of rest and then I will gently increase my activities each day.

Healthier Diet

I have been pretty consistent with my healthy eating and sticking with a calorie intake of around 1600-1800 calories this past month. I know my weight loss has been minimal of late but nevertheless I have still managed to lose weight. Once I reach my target weight I will increase my calories to 2000 a day and with my daily exercises I hope to be able to maintain my weight, however I will continue to monitor my weight just to make sure .

12 Weeks

In 12 weeks I have lost 19lbs, I look so much better and feel more confident in myself, it’s great being able to fit in my jeans again, look at pictures of myself and feel happy with the way I look!

I am proud of my achievement especially after the setback with my painful injury but I stuck with it and didn’t give up. Seeing the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos shows how far I have come!

I spoke with Johnny at the weekend, he really has had a rough few weeks with swollen legs which landed him in hospital for three days, thankfully antibiotics are starting to help and Johnny hopes to resume his exercises soon with his online lessons and walking. Johnny has managed to maintain his weight through eating healthy and not snacking which is fantastic. It’s easy to feel deflated and down when suffering a setback but Johnny is still determined and keeping his sense of humour when talking about his healthier lifestyle, he knows he will get there… eventually! We are behind you 100% Johnny!
I will report on Johnny’s progress next week.
